EcoVend attend the FED’s Scottish Business Event in March

Last month, EcoVend attended the Scottish Business Event ran by the Federation of Independent Retailers, with Managing Director, Travis Way, speaking on the DRS panel.

The day consisted of a packed programme helping Fed members save money, save energy and make business easier. Tom Arthur MSP opened the event by discussing issues affecting Scottish independent retailers.  You can read the speech here https://thefedonline.com/wp-content/uploads/Federation-of-Independent-Retailers-Conference-Speech-1.pdf.

Travis Way joined the DRS panel and commented “Communication is really important. Consumers are not really aware or understand what needs to be done. We felt a large multi-media screen can really get that message across, with a step-by-step guide of what the customer needs to do. Reverse vending machines are as easy at 1,2,3. Simply put the bottle in, scan the code, receive the voucher and EcoVend recycled the container”.

Following the DRS panel, the Fed published a four-page guide explaining both the logistics of the scheme and why it is in being introduced. EcoVend partnered with The FED to produce this digital, at-a-glance guide to Scotland’s DRS. The guide also includes the Fed’s position on DRS and what Scottish members must do in terms of applying for an exemption or registering to operate as a returns point.  https://thefedonline.com/wp-content/uploads/The-Fed-DRS-Guide-Digital.pdf.
